I worked as a furniture designer for twelve years before I came to the NFTS. I became interested in animation while working with a group of architects, when I had the opportunity to work with 3D software, creating virtual designs for clients. As a result, I decided to study animation at London College of Communication for a year.
Soon after that I was taken on as the Art Director on the NFTS animation film For the Love of God, directed by Joe Tucker. The experience of working for Joe made me realised that I could apply my design skills and knowledge to this new medium. It was a very exciting time for me and gave me the encouragement to apply for the animation direction course.
My two years at the NFTS have taught me new skills and also to work collaboratively with other students from all the various departments. My communication and managing skill
have also vastly improved and I'm looking forward to pursuing my directing career when I graduate.
