Iria López González
Since I was very young I've always been interested in art, cinema, and anything that would mean the playful use of my imagination.
I graduated from a master degree in Fine Art in 2004, Pontevedra, Spain, where I had the opportunity to experiment with different artistic techniques and develop my own style, which at the time was centered around video art, collage and drawings in motion. In 2003 I went to study on an Erasmus to Kingston University, where I fell in love with the madness of London. During my last year of the BA I was selected by a jury to complete a short but intense postgraduate course in Digital Art, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with various digital artists.
After finishing my BA I moved to London to develop my creative career. My first opportunity was a 4 months internship at the Art and video department of the Allan McGee Music Production Company “Poptones Ltd”, It was really fun and I got to know the process of professional promos making. After this internship I got on to a two year MA in Communication and Design, Digital Media Pathway at Central Saint Martins College of Art, where I immersed myself into the world of animation, especially during my final project. These were a couple of intense years where I met many amazing people, some of whom I have continued to work with since I joined the fledgeling company Watergun films, an audiovisual studio founded by one of my friends from the course.
My ambition of learning and my interest to develop and push further my story telling and animation skills motivated me to come to NFTS, and here i am now, surrounded by animation geniuses hoping to learn a lot from them and to be one day as great as i think they are.
